Composite Resin Restorations

Amalgam restorations can be safely removed and replaced with a tooth coloured restoration – also known as resin or composite. This type of filling is bonded to the tooth for added strength. The material comes in variety of shades and can be matched to the shade of your tooth so no one will ever know that a filling has been placed! This type of restoration is ideal for small to medium cavities and can be used to repair chipped or cracked teeth.

Composite resin restorations can also be used as veneers on teeth to change the shape and colour of teeth by being bonded to the front surface of the teeth. With recent advances in composite resin technology including a greater range of colours, improved properties and characteristics of these materials, and advanced layering techniques the art of Bonding has become a cost effective and conservative alternative to porcelain veneers in many situations.
